Tips for Ordering Concrete
S.B. Cox strives to provide customers with the best possible service. We want to ensure you receive the right product at the right time & we ask that you provide us with as much information as possible. Our concrete delivery schedule can fill up quickly. We encourage you to call and place orders at least 24 hours before you expect to pour. SB Cox dispatch will need to know the following information:

  • Name: Account name/ Contractor/Homeowner
  • Date and Time
  • Address/Directions: Job-site address and/or lot#
  • Telephone Number: In case dispatch needs to contact you about your job or delivery.
  • Concrete Mix and Slump: Dispatch can assist you in determining the correct mix and slump depending on the type of job/ project.
  • Amount of Concrete: Dispatch will need to know how much concrete you need for your job. If you need help estimating the amount of concrete for your job/project, dispatch can assist you. All we need are your dimensions- Length, Width, & Depth. A rule of thumb about concrete, order 10% extra to make up for any unforeseen issues.
  • Definite/ Will Call Order: When you call in an order to dispatch, we will need to know if your order is a definite “go” or a will call. A definite order means that your concrete will be delivered at the time you asked for unless you call to cancel. A will call order means that you have called in an order for a certain time & you will call in to release the order. For will call orders, we recommend calling two hours before you want concrete to ensure you get a spot at that time.
  • Truck Spacing: If your order more than 9 yards, you will need more than one truck. Dispatch will need to know the time you would like between the trucks.
  • Additives: Additional products you might need in your concrete depending on the application: fibers, accelerators, hot or chilled water, or retardants.
  • Concrete Washout : You will need to provide a washout area for the truck after it is finished pouring the concrete. This should be a contained area that would not allow liquids to seep into surrounding areas. A wheelbarrow or other container is often the easiest to supply.
